O’Bryant Captures Four Medals at Pan American Games

RUSTON – The future of Louisiana Tech Bowling looks brighter and brighter as incoming freshman Annalise O'Bryant added to her summer accomplishments by bringing home four medals as a member of Junior Team USA at the 2023 PANAM Bowling Youth Championship.

O'Bryant, one of four bowlers competing for the Junior Team USA women, represented the United States in Lima, Peru at the VIDENA Bowling Center of La Villa Deportiva Nacional, collecting two gold and two bronze medals.

"It has always been a dream of mine to be a part of Team USA, so to be able to compete for the team and win medals is just beyond words," said O'Bryant.  "This was amazing."

She reached her first podium at the Pan American games in the doubles competition, securing a bronze medal with a six-game total of 2,394.  O'Bryant led the way for the duo, using scores of 202, 229, 216, 197, 203, and 203 to come in with a six-game total of 1,250 (208.33 average).

The second medal was of the gold variety as she helped the Team USA women to the top spot on the podium, winning by nearly 500 pins with a six-game score of 4,004 (222.44 average per player per game).  O'Bryant tallied the third highest pin total, coming in with a 1,356 total thanks to games of 212, 247, 225, 211, 226, and 235.

The team captured another gold on the final day of competition as well with a final score of 4,950 (average of 206.25 per player per game), which was more than enough to keep both Colombia (4,643) and Puerto Rico (4,630) at arm's length.

O'Bryant also walked away with a second bronze with a 24-game total of 4,958 in the women's all-events to conclude the event.

"Annalise keeps adding to her accomplishments this summer," said LA Tech Bowling head coach Matt Nantais.  "I am really looking forward to getting the team on campus so we can make a run at the National Championship."
