Bulldogs Stay Perfect at Northeast Classic

NEW CASTLE, Del. – The fourth-ranked Louisiana Tech bowling team was one of three teams to finish 10-0 after the first two days of the Northeast Classic at Bowlerama on Saturday.

Louisiana Tech came out rolling against Molloy to open the day. The Bulldogs used big scores on the bookend of the lineup to take a dominating 1,144-924 win. Kylee Trexler led off with a 257, including a six-bagger to end the game, while Allie Leiendecker anchored with seven in a row for a 264. Danielle Jedlicki shot 215, Abbie Leiendecker rolled a 212, and Patricia Rosales rounded out the scoring with a 196.

The game against No. 13 Merrimack came down to the final bowler for each team. The Warriors' anchor bowler struck to open the frame and forced Allie Leiendecker to mark and get count on the fill ball to take the match. Allie Leiendecker left the 10-pin on the first shot, picked it up, and struck in the fill to give the Bulldogs the 1,023-1,018 victory. Jedlicki was high on the team with a 223, followed by Abbie Leiendecker with a 207. Rosales and Allie Leiendecker were the other two bowlers in the plus at 205 and 204, respectively.

Tech continued to increase their streak to four consecutive games in the plus with a 1,085-922 win over Morgan State. Abbie Leiendecker was the high Bulldog with a 235. Jedlicki improved upon her game-two score and rolled a 227. Trexler bounced back and shot 216, while Rosales finished right behind at 210. Allie Leiendecker closed out the scoring with a 197.

No. 17 Sacred Heard stood no chance against LA Tech. The Bulldogs took match four, 1,061-902. Trexler and Allie Leiendecker once again lead the way at the top and bottom of the lineup. Traxler finished at 238, and Allie Leiendecker shot 232. Abbie Leiendecker finished with a 214, and Rosales shot 198.

The Bulldogs cooled off in the final match but were still able to come away with an 892-890 win over Bryant. Allie Leiendecker marked and threw a nine count in the 10thg frame to secure the victory. Abbie Leiendecker led the scoring with a 190.

Allie Leiendecker finished 14th overall with a 1,075-pin count for five games. Trexler finished with a 1,065 for 18th, and Abbie Leiendecker shot 1,058 for 21st.
