RUSTON – Louisiana Tech swept its third straight opponent on its home courts, defeating LSU-Alexandria by a final score of 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the LA Tech Tennis Complex.

LA Tech (5-2) started the day by taking all three doubles courts, getting wins of 6-4 (
Olga Bienzobas/
Alexia Romero), 6-2 (
Valentina Vasquez,
Ana Rodrigues), and 6-3 (
Zoie Epps/
Tiffani Nash).

The dominance continued in singles as Vasquez, Nash, and Romero each did not surrender a single game, winning 6-0, 6-0 on courts three, five, and six, respectively. Â It was Nash that delivered the clincher.

Epps provided the fifth point for the Bulldogs, defeating Joline Roesch 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 4 spot. Rodrigues followed suit from the No. 2 position, besting Annemart Kleijn 6-3, 6-4.

The match of the day came on court one between Bienzobas and LSUA's (0-1) Olivia Scattini. Scattini pulled out the first set in a tiebreaker, but Bienzobas responded with a 6-2 win in set two. The two then went into a third set tiebreaker where Scattini jumped out to a 7-3 lead before Bienzobas won seven of the next eight points to claim it, 10-8.Â

- With the win, LA Tech now leads the all-time series over LSUA, 5-0.
- LA Tech improved to 31-4 at home over the last 3-plus seasons. The Bulldogs have now won 16 of their last 17 home matches.
- Alexia Romero won her 43rd career dual singles match, tied for the 10th most in program history.
- Olga Bienzobas improved to a team-leading 6-1 in dual singles, having now won five in a row.
