RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech Tennis team returns to action this weekend as the Bulldogs host the inaugural Red River Invitational, a four-team event to be played in nearby Bossier City.

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH
The Red River Invitational will be the second of four fall tournaments played for LA Tech. The Bulldogs opened the fall state by participating at the Diving Eagle Invitational in Denton, Texas, an event that resulted in 15 combined victories.
Zoie Epps, Ana Rodrigues, June Vigneron, and Nina Skoric each registered multiple singles wins. Epps led the way with three, defeating opponents from Northwestern State, UT Arlington, and host North Texas while playing at the No. 3 spot.
Playing on line one was Rodrigues who notched back-to-back victories via third-set tiebreakers against Northwestern State and Stephen F. Austin. Meanwhile, newcomers Vigneron and Skoric produced two wins apiece in their first action as Bulldogs.
There were also two doubles pairings (Rodrigues/Maria Tsironi and Skoric/Soha Singh) that claimed two victories. Rodrigues/Tsironi prevailed over UTA and NSU while Skoric/Singh outlasted SFA and NSU.
ABOUT RED RIVER INVITATIONAL
Saturday will consist of one doubles and two singles matches while Sunday will have two doubles and one singles match played. Doubles will be one 6-game set and a 7-point tiebreak at 6-all while singles will be two tiebreak sets with a 10-point tiebreaker at one set all.
