Bulldogs in First After Day Two of Columbia 300 Saints Invite

VALLEY PARK, Mo. – The lane pattern continued to be conducive to low scores. Still, three Bulldogs are in the top 15 heading after the second day of the Columbia 300 Saints Invite. Fourth-ranked Louisiana Tech went 4-1 and moved into first place at Bowlero Lakeside on Saturday.
 
The Bulldogs finished the day with a 5,028 and a tournament total of 9,955, 142 pins ahead of second.
 
Patricia Rosales shot 729 over the final three games to finish with 1,077 for third with one game to go. Abbie Leiendecker started with 700 through three and ended the day in fourth with 1,056. Kylee Trexler was the only other Bulldog to bowl all five games and shot a 993 to sit in 11th.
 
Tech started their move into first with an opening win against No. 10 Maryville 976-957. The first three Bulldogs shot in the plus to help push them into the win. Trexler led off with a 209, while Abbie Leiendecker and Danielle Jedlicki shot identical 212s in the second and third spots.
 
No. 20 Oklahoma Christian took the second match of the day after LA Tech bowled their lowest score of the tournament, 964-878. Abbie Leiendecker was the bright spot, rolling a 233.
 
Head coach Matt Nantais decided to change the lineup, and it paid off with the three highest scores on the day, starting with a 1,072-901 win over Lincoln Memorial. Abbie Leiendecker continued her hot start with 255, while Rosales began to heat up with 224. Allyson Sand was in the plus at 202 in her first game of the day. Trexler rebounded and shot a 199, while Jenna Stretch finished with a 192.
 
The Bulldogs moved into first after taking down No. 18 Newman 1,037 869. Rosales moved into the plus on the day with a 257. Trexler (226), Abbie Leiendecker (195), and Stretch (193) rounded out the scoring.
 
Tech extended their lead after defeating UAB 1,065-873, giving them three games in the plus compared to four by the rest of the field combined. Rosales closed out with a 248, while Allie Leiendecker rolled a 227 in her return to the lineup. Stretch and Trexler also finished in the 200s with a 216 and 213, respectively.
 
UP NEXT
The Bulldogs will take on Kentucky Wesleyan for the final traditional game. The teams will then be placed into the bracket, where the top four teams can take the tournament title.
