Bowling Remains Seventh in NTCA Poll

RUSTON – Louisiana Tech held steady at seventh in the final regular season National Tenpin Coaches Association poll released by the organization on Thursday.

The Bulldogs are 73-30 on the season and have three tournament wins.

In their only tournament since the previous poll came out, Tech finished 10thg at the Mid-Winter Invitational. The Bulldogs went 8-2 over the first two days but found themselves sitting in seventh in total pins. LA Tech would drop three matches on the final day to finish 10th.

Patricia Rosales picked up her second consecutive All-Tournament honor after rolling 1,145. Rosales has been one of the top bowlers in the country all season. She currently ranks fifth in the nation with a single-pin spare rate of 94 percent, eighth with a 21.078 average per frame and strike percentage of 55 percent, and 11th with an overall fill rate of 88 percent.

The Bulldogs start their postseason run with the USBC ISC/ITC Sectionals at Cityview Lanes in Forth Worth, Texas, which will begin tomorrow, March 8, and conclude on Sunday, March 10.

Louisiana Tech will have one more regular season NCAA Tournament when they travel to Syrma, Tenn., for the Columbia 300 Music City Classic from March 15-17.
