NEW CASTLE, Del. — The 12th-ranked Louisiana Tech bowling team picked up another four wins on the second day of the Northeast Classic at Bowlerama.
The Bulldogs (38-23) moved up one spot into 14thg overall with a 9,749 total pinfall.
Louisiana Tech got rolling early and took down No. 13 McKendree 1,052-938. Kylee Trexler shot a 227 in the leadoff position to lead the Bulldogs. Jenna Stretch wasn't far behind with a 224. Rachel Ong and Ashley Imhoff were in the 210s with 213 and 210, respectively.
The scores dipped in the second game, but the result remained the same. Tech took down No. 22 Delaware State 989-757. Abbie Leiendecker found her mark and rolled a team-high 214. Ong and Stretch both hit even, and Trexler was just below at 197.
Louisiana Tech continued to put one in the win column, this time taking down Molloy 962-850. Leiendecker continued to throw the ball well, rolling a 224 to lead the Bulldogs. Trexler shot 203 and Paulina Avalos had a 201 as the only other 'Dogs in the plus.
No. 14 Duquesne gave LA Tech the only loss on the day, 954-900. Ong and Stretch were the only Bulldogs to reach 190, with 194 and 190, respectively.
Tech got back into the win column in the final match, beating Kutztown 982-899. Ong and Stretch were once again the top Bulldogs. Ong finished with a 237, followed by Stretch with a 234. Allyson Sand gave Tech a third bowler to hit even with a 200.
Stretch finished with a 1,032 (206.4 avg.) to finish 44th. Ong had a 1,021 (204.2 avg.) to end the day in 48th. Leiendecker rolled a 787, and Trexler had a 764 for four games.
