JONESBORO, Ark. — The Louisiana Tech bowling team fell in the first match of the day before picking up four wins at the Mid-Winter Invitational at the Hijinx Family Entertainment Center on Saturday.

The 11th-ranked Bulldogs moved up to 11th place with a 4,914 during the individual portion of the tournament to finish with a 9,686 during qualifying.

Louisiana Tech opened the day with a solid 962 but would fall to No. 9 Stephen F. Austin's 1,088.
Rachel Ong was the only Bulldog in the plus with a 225.
Abbie Leiendecker was just under at 193.

Tech started to pick up momentum with a 997-990 win over No. 7 Wichita State. Ong continued her hot start with a 223. Leiendecker stepped up in the anchor position and doubled in the 10th to shuck out the Shockers, finishing with a 211.

Jenna Stretch had identical 193s in the third and fourth positions.

The scores would dip in the 962-776 win over No. 5 Youngstown State. Stretch was the high Bulldog with a 225.
Kylee Trexler was the only other bowler to hit 190 with a 194.

Striking picked up for the 'Dogs in a 1,072-1,008 win over No. 13 McKendree. Trexler barely beat out Stretch for the high game with a 235, while Stretch finished with a 230. Ong got back into the plus with a 223, and
Paulina Avalos had a clean 213.

Louisiana Tech had to rely on Leiendecker and Trexler to pull out a win over Jackson State, 916-880. Leiendecker anchored with a 228, and Trexler rolled a 193 in the leadoff position.

Stretch and Ong were the only two to finish the day in the play. Stretch had a 1,008 to finish 31st, and Ong was 32nd with a 1,005. Trexler and Leiendecker were not far off, even with 985 and 980, respectively.
