RUSTON – Louisiana Tech heads to the Lone Star State to take part in the Maridoe Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of North Texas. The stacked field includes four teams ranked in the top 15 in the country.

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH
LA Tech returns to action, having recently played in the Linger Longer Invitational where the Bulldogs picked up marquee wins over Ohio State and Kennesaw State with a ninth-place finish.

The team finished the event strong, shooting six under in round three which tied for their fifth-best round of the season. It also marked the 13th time this season the Bulldogs have shot at or under par in a round.

Niilo Maki-Petaja and
Oskari Schuvalow, both of whom are in the lineup for the Maridoe Intercollegiate, tied for 12th at the Linger Longer Invitational. It was the highest individual finish of the season for Schuvalow who recorded a team-best 14 total birdies. After shooting 72-72-69=213 (-1), the sophomore improved his stroke average to 73.56.

For Maki-Petaja, it was his sixth top-20 finish. The sophomore, who is currently ranked 212th in the country, shot 71-74-68=213 (-1) giving him a total of 19 rounds at or under par this season, one shy of tying his career best of 20 set last season. Seven of those 19 rounds have been four under or better. He currently owns a team-best 70.59 stroke average.

In the lineup again is
Jake Plumb who finished the Linger Longer Invitational stroke with a 70 (-2), his 10th round at or under par. The sophomore will be competing in his eighth event and owns a stroke average of 72.90, second best on the team.Â
Morton Bailey is also in the lineup, readying to play in his ninth event for the Bulldogs. The freshman has a 73.42 stroke average.

Riley Hnatyshyn will be the fifth Bulldog in the team lineup. This will be his fourth tournament this season, two of which have come this spring at the Hal Williams Collegiate and Louisiana Classics. His best result came at the Hal Williams Collegiate, tying for 28th which was tops on the team. He currently owns a 74.78 stroke average.

Playing as an individual will be
Gray Kingrea. This will also be his fourth event this season, having last played in the Hal Williams Collegiate when he finished off the event with a one under 70. The sophomore currently has a stroke average of 73.11, third best on the squad.  Â
