RUSTON – Postseason gets underway for Louisiana Tech as the Bulldogs take on the WKU Lady Toppers in the Conference USA Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday in Lynchburg, Virginia.

ABOUT NO. 3 LOUISIANA TECH (17-8)
LA Tech carries a five-match winning streak into the CUSA Women's Tennis Championship. Three of those victories came against league opponents – Kennesaw State, Liberty, and UTEP – to close out the regular season.
The Bulldogs have been led by their two captains Ana Rodrigues and Zoie Epps this spring. Rodrigues, the four-year senior from Montes Claros, Brazil, is 11-6 in dual singles while playing every match from the No. 1 position. She has won 10 of her last 13 completed matches, including three victories over league foes.
Then there is Epps who broke a 43-year-old program record this past Sunday when she claimed dual singles win No. 23. The sophomore has a remarkable 23-2 record while playing mostly from the No. 2 spot. She carries a 12-match winning streak into the championship.
The two have also teamed up to go 17-7 in dual doubles, which is tied for the most wins in program history. The three-time CUSA Doubles Team of the Week has played every match from the top spot and are currently riding an eight-match winning streak.
Possibly the hottest Bulldog is Mio Kozaki who has won five straight singles matches while not allowing more than three games by her opponents in any of them. As a team, LA Tech is a combined 75-43 in dual singles.
In dual doubles, the Bulldogs are a combined 41-21 having claimed the doubles point in 19 of their 25 matches. The tandem of Alice Brook and Maria Tsironi have been a steady duo as well, having combined to go 12-6 together while primarily playing at No. 2.
ABOUT NO. 6 WKU (15-9)
Following back-to-back losses to CUSA opponents Liberty and Middle Tennessee, WKU ended the regular season on a high note with shutout wins over Campbellsville and Alabama A&M to reach the 15-win mark.
The Lady Toppers are anchored by Rachel Hermanova and Sofia Blanco who have combined to go 29-13 in dual singles while playing at the top two spots. The team is a combined 80-41 in dual singles, winning over 70 percent of the matches at No. 2, No. 5, and No. 6.
In dual doubles, WKU is a combined 36-19 with the pairing of Hermanova and Blanco putting together a 14-8 mark. The Lady Toppers have won 16 of their 24 doubles points this season.
THE SERIES
LA Tech owns a slim 8-7 advantage over WKU. The Bulldogs have won four of the last six, including a 4-0 victory in last year's CUSA Tournament quarterfinals in Miami. Of the 15 all-time meetings, eight of them have come in a conference tournament – six in the Sun Belt Conference and two in CUSA.
