Bulldogs Fall to Aggies

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Louisiana Tech bowling team fell to No. North Carolina A&T in the fourth round of the Rochester Regional at Bowl-A-Roll on Saturday.

The 11th-ranked Bulldogs finished the season at 84-47 for the second most wins in program history. It also marked the third consecutive season LA Tech reached the 80-win plateau.

Like the day before, Louisiana Tech got off to a slow start and fell behind by nearly 60 pins halfway through the traditional game. Abbie Leiendecker was the bright spot for the Bulldogs, with the front five to keep the Bulldogs within striking distance.

In frames six through nine, LA Tech found their mark with 11 strikes to flip the game in their favor. The 'Dogs held a 60-pin lead heading into the final frame. However, zero strikes and three opens doomed Tech in a 975-957 loss.

Baker is where Louisiana Tech has thrived all season long, and that trend would have to continue if the Bulldogs looked to extend the NCAA season. It looked to be heading that way as Tech jumped out to a 54-pin lead after rolling 182 and 232.

North Carolina A&T found their mark and Tech had no answer. The lead was cut nearly in half after the Aggies took game three 248-224. The Bulldogs struggled to throw consecutive doubles and would roll 168 and 172, while the Aggies shot 235 and 218 to win 1,061-978 and take the match 2-0.
