RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs fell 1-3 to James Madison in a misty evening match at Sentara Park in Harrisonburg, VA.

Despite multiple good opportunities in an otherwise Dukes-dominated first half, including a Madison Pensom goal taken away due to an offsides call, the two teams went into halftime tied without any score.

James Madison would continue to control the pace in the second half, immediately setting the tone with a goal just one minute in. 20 minutes later, the Duke's leading scorer and preseason Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year, Ginny Lackey made her presence known with a goal, doubling James Madison's lead. Two minutes later, she scored again, with her 36th career goal.

After a botched Duke's reception and cross from Abby Hanton, Madison Pensom found the back of the net with the eighth goal of her season.

Next up, the Bulldogs return to Ruston to face Old Dominion next Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. CT at Robert Mack Caruthers Field.

Quotables

Head Coach Matt Lodge

"Very proud of the group, the first half is one of the best we have played this season, really unfortunate not going into the half with a lead. A slow start in the second half had us dropping our heads, but we finished strong and got the goal we deserved. We defended well, were brave in possession, and created the better chances. JMU is a quality program, Coach Walters has them playing some great soccer. We will bounce back."
