LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Tech soccer team lost 4-0 to the UL-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns at Home Bank Soccer & Track Complex Sunday afternoon.Â
The Cajuns took advantage early with a goal by Carson Glenn five minutes in. Within the next ten minutes, Carson would score two more times, giving the Cajuns the lead they would hold for the remainder of the game
The 'Dogs defense bounced back in the second half. Despite giving up more total shots than they did in the first, the Cajuns did not find the back of the net. Cadence Rutledge played a big part in that. For the first time since the very first game of the season, she found playing time as a goalkeeper. She started the second half and over the next 45 minutes recorded five saves.Â
Jane Neil, Brielle Buchanan, Maeva Costenaro, and Abby Hanton all recorded shots for the Bulldogs.Â
Next up, the 'Dogs return to Ruston next Sunday, Nov. 1 to play South Alabama in the regular season finale. LA Tech will be recognizing both its seniors as well as the team's alumni. First touch is scheduled for 1 p.m.Â
Notables
Head Coach Matt Lodge
"It was a rough game against a team with many great individuals in the attacking third. We did a great job limiting them to just five shots in the first half, but when four of them end up in the back of the net it becomes very tough. We didn't quit, we fought till the end. I'm very proud of the second half clean sheet."Â
