RUSTON – Louisiana's Tech women's soccer team closed out the 2026 season with a 3-2 loss to South Alabama at Robert Mack Caruthers Field Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs took an early lead after an excellent individual play from Abby Hanton in the fourteenth minute. She made some space, then outran two defenders to get a one-on-one with the goalie. Hanton then sent a shot into the bottom left that deflected off the post into the back of the net.

The Jaguars would tie it up five minutes later after a goal from Lorie Bourassa. South Alabama continued to pressure LA Tech's defense, but were met with the stalwart freshman goalkeeper, Mackenzie Lorkowski. She ended the first half with seven saves. USA would close the half with one more goal, heading into the break with a one-goal lead.

Early in the second half, Madison Pensom tied up the game after a beautiful cross from Reagan Roberts. Pensom headed it directly over the outstretched hands of the Jaguars goalie. Both teams created multiple opportunities, but South Alabama's Makena Zukeran's goal proved to be the game-winner.
