Goals from Pensom and Leonhart not enough to overcome Troy.
TROY, ALA. – The Louisiana Tech soccer team (3-8-2, 1-3-1 SBC) fell to the Troy Trojans (3-8-2, 2-3-0 SBC) by a score of 2-4 Thursday night at the Troy Soccer Complex.Â
The Trojans opened scoring early, with a goal from Alaina Uncapher just six minutes in. The first half continued with consistent pressure from both teams. Troy held most of that pressure for the next 20 minutes, recording six shots. For the last fifteen minutes of the half, the Bulldogs controlled play. They had two corner kicks and four shots, but were unable to put any into the back of the net.Â
The Bulldogs gave up another goal early in the second half, but quickly cut the Trojan's lead in half just three minutes later. The balanced play continued for 30 minutes before the Trojans broke through with a goal from Sofia Sasan. A minute later, after a Trojan handball in the box, Ashley Leonhart converted on a penalty kick to cut the deficit to one. Troy closed the game with a fourth goal in the 88th minute.Â
Next up, the Bulldogs return home to face Arkansas State this Sunday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m. in a white out game.Â

Head Coach Matt LodgeÂ
"We fought hard in the second half and created some great opportunities. Unfortunately, when we start slow it's tough to overcome. Credit to the team for never once giving up but we have to reward our hard work with goals, not missed chances. Excited to get back home for a big game Sunday."Â
