LINCOLN, Neb.– The No. 5 Louisiana Tech bowling team fell two spots in the standings Saturday despite going 3-2 in traditional match play on day two of the Big Red Invite.
The Bulldogs sit in ninth with a total pinfall of 9,845. Tech tallied 4,852 total pins across today's five traditional matches. Tech is 6-4 in the event after two days.
LA Teach earned wins over Western Illinois (998-860), host school No. 6 Nebraska (958-942) and No. 13 McKendree (935-913). The Bulldogs fell to No. 3 Arkansas State in their first match of the day 2,006-996 and then to No. 1 Jax State 1,124-965.
Kylee Trexler sits in 11
th place after pacing the Bulldogs with a 1,062 (226 195 212 204 225).
Jenna Stretch is four spots back in 15
th after rolling a 1,037 (210 235 205 186 201). Tomorrow's traditional match against Quincy will count towards the individual standings and the all-tournament team.
Jax State leads the 12-team field with a 10,747 total pinfall, followed by Nebraska (10,451) and Wichita State (10,215).
The Bulldogs will face Quincy tomorrow in a traditional match before competing in two best four-of-seven baker matches.
