The Bulldogs and Blue Hens have met just once, with Delaware taking the lone meeting 4-3 in eight innings at the neutral-site Jimmy John's Lion Classic in Hammond, La., during the opening tournament of the 2013 season.
ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH
The Bulldogs moved to 14-10 (0-3 Conference USA) after defeating Alcorn State 9-1 in six innings Tuesday night. The win marked LA Tech's third run-rule victory of the season.
LA Tech outhit the Braves 11-1, with three of its hits going for doubles. Bulldog batters did not strike out, marking the first time this season Tech has not struck out in a game this season.
Reagan Marchant added three RBI to her season total and is up to a team-high 24.
Bradi Gallaway drove in one and sits behind Marchant with 19, while
Reese Torres (17) also drove in a run and ranks third on the team.
Gallaway, Torres, Furr and
Aleah Brooks all added two hits apiece in Tuesday night's victory. The Bulldogs matched their season-high in stolen bases with fives, as
Elena Heng led the way with two steals.
Heng leads the team with 32 hits, followed by Brooks (27), Furr (25) and Gallaway (24). Marchant, who has seven home runs and four doubles, shares the team lead in extra-base hits (11) with Torres, who has seven doubles, three home runs and a triple.
LA Tech pitchers allowed just one hit against the Braves.
Ruby Fidge (2-2) earned the win in the circle after allowing no hits and just one base runner over three innings. Fidge issued a leadoff walk before retiring the next eight batters she faced.
Laney Johnson tossed 1.2 innings and did not allow a hit, run or walk, while
Ryleigh Shull pitched one inning, striking out three batters while allowing one hit and one walk.
Allie Floyd leads the team with five wins in the circle. She has tossed a team-high 65.1 innings and has registered 53 strikeouts. She has a team-best 3.00 ERA, while the Bulldogs have a 4.08 staff ERA.
Laney Johnson is 4-0 with a 5.29 ERA in 39.2 innings of action.
Bryannah Campos leads the team with 15 appearances and has a 3-2 record across 32.0 innings. Campos has struck out 20 while Johnson has 18 strikeouts.
Fidge is up to 16.2 innings and 10 strikeouts after her three-inning outing Tuesday night.
