Preview: LA Tech at Linger Longer Invitational

The Bulldogs are one of 18 teams set to compete in Eatonton, Georgia

RUSTON – Louisiana Tech heads to the state of Georgia as one of 18 teams set to compete at the annual Linger Longer Invitational.  The Bulldogs will be taking part in the event for a third straight season.
 
EVENT INFORMATION
Dates: Friday – Sunday, March 20-22
Tee Time: 7:30 a.m. CT (first Bulldog tee time in round one)
Location: Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee (Eatonton, Ga.)
Stroke Play: 3 rounds/54 holes (18 holes each day)
Yardage: 7,436 yards | Par 72
Participants: 18 teams | 108 golfers

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH
Louisiana Tech will be competing in its ninth event of the season this weekend.  The Bulldogs are coming off a 13th-place finish at the Louisiana Classics. 
 
Riley Hnatyshyn was the top Bulldog at the event in Lafayette, shooting 67-72-70=209 (-7) to tie for fifth out of 92 golfers.  It was the best finish for the senior, which included a career-low 67.  He currently anchors the team this season with a scoring average of 72.11.
 
Oskari Schuvalow had the next best finish for LA Tech, tying for 40th after shooting Even for three rounds.  The junior, who has played in all eight events so far this season, has a scoring average of 73.09. 
 
Abel Derksen is back in the lineup for a sixth consecutive event.  The sophomore has had two top 25 finishes, including a 9th-place finish at the Hal Williams Collegiate a month ago in Alabama after shooting three straight rounds under par.  He currently has a scoring average of 73.19.
 
Morton Bailey is the second Bulldog who has participated in every event this season.  The sophomore leads the team with five top 20 finishes including 12 rounds at or under par.  He currently has a scoring average of 72.59.
 
The fifth Bulldog in the lineup will be Seth Campbell.  The fifth-year senior has a scoring average of 74.42 with his best finish coming at the Steelwood Collegiate, which closed out the fall portion of the schedule.
