SMYRNA, Tenn. – The No. 5 Louisiana Tech bowling team jumped two spots in the standings from eighth to sixth on Saturday after a strong performance across its five traditional matches.
The Bulldogs totaled a 5,096 total pinfall with a 4-1 record on Saturday. LA Tech has an 8-2 record after two days with a total pinfall of 10,073 (4,977 | 5,096)
After falling to No. 17 Tulane 951-1045, LA Tech reeled off four straight wins to cap the day.
Tech took down No. 21 UAB 1018-947, followed by a 1072-885 victory over Belmont Abbey to move to 2-1. The Bulldogs beat No. 13 McKendree 962-953 in a tight match, followed by a win over Maryland Eastern Shore (1093-1015) to close out traditional play.
Juliana Kerrigan led the Bulldogs with a 14
th place finish out of 219 bowlers. Kerrigan rolled a 1069 (228, 189, 244, 193, 215).
Jenna Stretch (45
th) finished in the top 50 after registering a 983 (197, 203, 199, 192, 192).
The Bulldogs will be back in action tomorrow with bracket play to close the three-day event.
