
Diamond ‘Dogs Sign Brooks Willoughby, Nicholas Frontino and Keegan Giger

Louisiana Tech baseball adds three more pieces to the 2027 squad.
RUSTON – Head coach Lane Burroughs and Louisiana Tech baseball announce the official signings of left-handed pitcher Brooks Willoughby, infielder Nicholas Frontino and infielder Keegan Giger.
Willoughby, a 6-foot 5-inch native of Vicksburg, Mississippi, joins the Diamond 'Dogs after spending two years as a relief pitcher at Southern Miss. He went 3-0 in 17 appearances as a true freshman in 2025, recording one save and holding a 5.03 ERA. He fanned 22 batters across 19.2 innings and held opponents to a .224 average at the plate.
The Palm Beach, Florida-born southpaw helped the Golden Eagles to a Sun Belt championship in 2025 as Southern Miss was a consistent top 25 team during his two-year tenure.
Frontino joins the Bulldogs for the 2027 season after redshirting as a true freshman at Mississippi State. Standing at 6-foot-3, he prepped at St. John Neumann Catholic High School in Naples, Florida where he earned First Team All-Area honors his junior and senior years. He hit .280 as a senior with two doubles, four homers, 22 RBI and 21 runs scored, following his junior campaign when he hit .305 with four extra-base hits, 18 RBI, 10 runs scored and seven stolen bases.
The Chardon, Ohio-born middle infielder was rated the No. 14 shortstop in the state of Florida by Perfect Game and was named to the Southwest Florida's Starting 9 by The News-Press/Naples Daily News.
Giger comes in as a transfer from Nicholls, where he started in all 50 games he played in. He hit .297 with 31 runs scored, 10 doubles, two triples, six homers and 40 RBI, along with leading the team with 11 stolen bases on 15 attempts. The Petal, Miss. native registered the second-most multi-hit games (18) and the third-longest reached base streak on the team at 16 games.
He tied for the most single-game hits on the team with 4 on two separate occasions. Giger went 4-5 with a pair of doubles in the series opener against Stephen F. Austin on April 17 before going 4-6 at the plate with a double and a homer in the series finale against New Orleans on May 3.
