Cecilia Acosta

Cecilia Acosta enters her second season as an assistant coach for the women's soccer program.

In her first season in a coaching capacity at LA Tech, the team finished with a 13-5-3 overall record and a fourth place finish in Conference USA with a 5-3-2 mark.  The Lady Techsters produced a 9-1 home record, including eight straight victories which tied a program record, at the Lady Techster Soccer Complex, and advanced to the semifinals of the C-USA Tournament for the third time in program history.

Three players went on to earn Conference USA honors, including Nomvula Kgoale (First Team), Elizabeth Doll (Third Team) and Alexandra Augustyn (All-Freshman).

Acosta's responsibilities outside of coaching include travel arrangements for road games, assisting incoming players with housing arrangements and school applications and helping manage practices and equipment.

This past spring, she was also given the responsibility of creating and implementing fitness programs for the team.

Acosta spent two years as a player at LA Tech (2011-12), seeing action in four games.  She came to LA Tech from Ruston High School where she lettered four years and was a three-time all-district selection.   Â
