Game 1 - Murray State 
RUSTON - With threatening weather in the area, the Louisiana Tech soccer team was able to sneak in their last morning practice before the season opener tomorrow versus Murray State.
Tech will host the Racers at the Lady Techster Soccer Complex at 1 p.m. after having less than two weeks of practice to get the 17 freshman players ready for tomorrow's match.
"It will be interesting to see if the freshmen can incorporate the aspects of the game we have been teaching them into the game itself," said Kevin Sherry, beginning his sixth season as Lady Techster soccer head coach. "This will be exciting and a real eye opener for our freshmen and a realistic introduction to D1 soccer."
Seniors Mo Rockwell and Lindsay Brough, and returning junior goalkeeper Caitlin Updyke will lead Louisiana Tech against a Murray State team whom the Lady Techsters have only faced once back in 2010 that resulted in a 3-1 victory.
The Racers out of Murray, Ky. are a physical team led by Beth Acreman, now in her seventh season as head coach of Murray State. They return eight starters and are coming off a 2011 season that saw them finish 7-9-3 with a 4th place finish in the Ohio Valley Conference.
"Murray State is a well-coached team, organized and disciplined," said Sherry. "It will provide our young team with a real challenge."
The Lady Techsters will continue action at home on Tuesday versus LSU-Shreveport at 5 p.m. and again at home on Friday versus Southern Miss at 11 a.m. This will be the first time in the program's history that they'll open the season with a three-game home stand.
