RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech's golf program will open up the 2016 spring season Monday when the Bulldogs head to San Antonio, Texas for the Oak Hills Invitational hosted by Conference USA foe UTSA.
A challenging field awaits Louisiana Tech with several powerful teams in competition at Oak Hills including Baylor, Oklahoma, Tulsa and Wichita State alongside C-USA members North Texas, Southern Miss and UTSA.
The tournament, a three-round, 36-hole affair, begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. CT on Monday with two rounds being played followed by the final round starting with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday. Live scoring will be available at GolfStat.com.
Baylor claimed the team title last year at 2-under-par 850 on the par-71; 6,765 course while Oklahoma won the previous two years.
A new individual champion will be crowned in 2016 as Baylor's Kyle Jones, who has been the medalist the last three years, exhausted his collegiate eligibility last spring. A Baylor individual has claimed the top individual spot each of the last four years.
Victor Lange will lead the Bulldogs into San Antonio and will be joined by newcomers Charles Neel White and Hunter Glenn as well as LA Tech veterans Chuck Spears and Jake Pritchard.
