- LA Tech has tied the school record for most conference wins in a single season, which is 16 wins recorded by the 1978 Bulldog team. LA Tech is now 16-9 in C-USA play with five games left in league play.
- After tonight's win over Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech now has the best overall record in Conference USA at 34-14 (.708).
- LA Tech moved to 34-14 overall which is the best record of any Bulldog team through 48 games since 1972 when that team was 34-14.
- The 2016 Bulldogs became just the third team since 1990 to record at least 34 wins in a single season.
- The last time LA Tech won at least 16 of its last 18 games dates back to a decade ago when the 2006 team also won 16 games in an 18-game stretch.
- With tonight's win, it marks the first time since 2006 LA Tech has defeated four ranked teams in a single season. The 2006 Bulldogs beat five ranked opponents that season. LA Tech has beaten UL-Lafayette twice (#6, #14), Arkansas (#12) and Southern Miss (#16). Three of the wins this year have come on the road. In 2006, only one of five wins over ranked opponents came on the road.
