RUSTON, La. – After wrapping up a five-game road trip with a win over ULM on Tuesday, the No. 21 Louisiana Tech baseball team will face a quick turnaround, welcoming Marshall to J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park for a three-game Conference USA series this Thursday through Saturday.
Due to the upcoming Easter holiday, the Bulldogs (25-11, 10-5 C-USA) and Thundering Herd (21-15, 8-7 C-USA) will play a slightly adjusted schedule set for Thursday at 6 p.m., Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m.
All three contests will be streamed live on CUSA.tv (subscription required) and broadcast on KNBB 97.7 FM or through the LA Tech X Mobile App with Dave Nitz on the call.
LA Tech currently sits third in the league standings, just two games behind the league-leading Florida Atlantic Owls (12-3) and one game back of second-place Southern Miss (11-4). The Bulldogs remain one of the hottest teams in C-USA, winning nine of their last 10 conference games since starting 1-4.
Tech is tied with FAU for the most wins in C-USA with 25, and is the only team with double-digit wins in both home and away contests this season.
Tech and Marshall have met 16 times coming into this weekend, with the Bulldogs holding a 9-7 edge in the all-time series. Tech has won seven of the last 10 meetings, including six consecutive wins dating back to 2017. Marshall's last win in Ruston came back in 2015.
Tech head coach Lane Burroughs notched another milestone after Tuesday's win. The Tech skipper secured his 100th victory while at Tech, becoming the fastest Tech coach to reach the 100-win plateau. Burroughs is now 100-51 in his third year at the helm.
In the month of April, Tech is off to an 8-1 start, and has won 14 of its last 17 games overall.
