The Bulldogs face off with the Huskies on HCU’s home pitch for the first time since 2008.
HOUSTON, Texas – Louisiana Tech soccer is set for their first road test of the 2026 season, traveling to Houston, Texas for a Thursday evening matchup against the Houston Christian Huskies at Sorrels Field. First touch is set for the match is set for 5 p.m. CT.

The Bulldogs (0-2-1) are looking to avenge their 2-0 loss to the Huskies (1-1-1) in Ruston in 2025, yet it was the first loss LA Tech suffered to HCU in their series history. The last time the 'Dogs were victorious was 2009 with a 2-1 win in Ruston, and the last time Tech defeated HCU in Houston goes back to their inaugural match in 2008, blanking the Huskies 1-0.
Freshman keeper Mackenzie Lorkowski has been a wall in front of the net, leading the country with an average of 10 saves per game and is among the top 25 nationally with 20 saves. She has the most saves through the first two starts of her career among any goalie in program history.
Houston Christian is coming off a 1-1 draw in their home opener to in-city opponent Rice, just four days after securing their first win of the season with a 1-0 result at Texas Southern in Houston.
Isabella Dillow and Zylee Dominguez have been the lone goal scorers for HCU thus far, with Dillow scoring the game winner at TSU in the 63rd minute and Dominguez netting the opener against the Owls in the 17th minute. Rice eventually equalized just 95 seconds into the second half.
The Huskies are led by third-year head coach Nick Whiting, who is 18-19-8 since taking over the program. Whiting led HCU to a fifth-place finish in the Southland regular-season standings in 2025 with a 4-4-2 mark, followed by an undefeated path to the program's third SLC tournament title since joining the league in 2013. The Huskies outscored their tournament opponents, 7-1, in three fixtures.
