Bulldogs face nationally ranked Bobcats to finish nonconference play
RUSTON – Louisiana Tech will close its nonconference slate against No. 15 Texas State Bobcats on Sunday, Sept. 13, in Ruston at Robert Mack Caruthers Field. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m. CT.
The last time Louisiana Tech played against a nationally ranked team was September 1, 2022 against No. 12 Ole Miss in a 0-5 loss.

Louisiana Tech (2-4-1) returns to Ruston after a 2-5 loss to Northwestern State last Sunday. Abby Hanton scored a career high two goals, coming within just 24 seconds a part. Izzy Wilson assisted both goals, also a career high.
Texas State (6-1-1) is coming off a 2-3 upset loss to UL-Lafayette last Thursday night. The Bobcats previously defeated No. 6 Baylor, 3-1. Victoria Meza leads the team with seven goals, 33 shots, and three game-winning goals. She has also recorded three assists, tied for second most on the team. Matsuri Tsutui leads with four. Last season, the Bobcats won the Sun Belt Conference Championship, but now plays in the Pac-12.
The Bulldogs and Bobcats have played six times, most recently on Aug. 17, 2018. The 'Dogs won that contest 2-1 after two overtime periods. Three of the six meetings have gone into overtime. Sunday's match will mark the third matchup in Ruston. The very first meeting took place in Nacogdoches, Texas, in 2005 at the Ladyjack Soccer Classic.
