HUNTINGTON, WV – The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (2-5-2, 0-0-1 Sun Belt) first Sun Belt match ended in a 1-1 tie against Marshall Saturday night in Huntington, WV.

Marshall (4-2-3, 0-0-1 Sun Belt) moved quickly, recording three shots on goal within the first eight minutes. One of those shots was a penalty kick from the Thundering Herd's Wiktoria Mikrut. Mackenzie Lorkowski responded perfectly, with a quick dive to her right, saving the shot in the bottom corner.

Despite the continued pressure throughout the first half, Lorkowski stood her ground and recorded two more saves. Only one shot made it through to the back of the net, giving the Bulldogs a one goal deficit heading into halftime.

Nineteen minutes into the second half, Izzy Wilson broke through and tied the game for the 'Dogs. Dribbling to the right side of the Herd's box, Wilson lost her defender and used her left foot to send her shot above the goalie into the back of the net.

During the last ten minutes, Marshall recorded multiple shots, but due to excellent team defense and key saves from Lorkowski, the Bulldogs maintained the 1-1 score.

Izzy Wilson's goal is the first of her career.
With nine saves tonight, Mackenzie Lorkowski is three away from entering into the top ten Bulldogs in program history.
Peyton Wiseman's two shots is the most she has had in a game this season.
Five Bulldogs (Neil, Leonhart, Pensom, Hanton, and Burford) played all 90 minutes tonight. Reagan Roberts played 89.
Tech's two shots on goal is tied for the lowest they have had in a game this season.
Louisiana Tech is now 3-2-3 against Marshall all-time.
