RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech women's soccer will host their final home game of the 2022 season as they welcome UAB to Ruston on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m. at Robert Mack Caruthers Field. The game will also serve as the annual Alumni Game.

ABOUT LA TECH (6-7-3, 4-2-2 C-USA)
Louisiana Tech improved to 4-2-2 in Conference USA and clinched a birth in the Conference USA tournament with a win at FAU last Sunday, 2-1.
Tech has now won three matches in a row and is unbeaten in their last four.
Junior captain
Emma Jones earned Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring two goals in the win, the first multi-goal game of her career.
Tech now has five players who have scored multiple goals this season, led by freshman
Flavie Dube, with five. Jones, along with
Alma Cedefors, each scored three. Cedefors leads the team in game winners, with two.
Tech's offense has come on as of late, scoring in five straight matches, their best stretch of the 2022 campaign. During the stretch, Tech has netted ten goals, with four of those in the first 25 minutes of the match, including two in the first nine minutes.
In conference play, Tech has scored the third-most goals in the league, with 13.
Tech currently sits in fourth place in the C-USA standings, two points behind North Texas for third with two matches remaining.
Tech will be searching for its first regular season four-game conference win streak since 2016.
In goal for the Techsters,
Sydnee Korchak has started 15 of 16 matches, earnning three shutouts, and is ranked No. 2 in C-USA in saves, with 72, and is first in saves per game (4.8).
Korchak has faced a total of 219 shots this season, allowing 1.81 goals per game, and has a .726 save percentage.
LA Tech has used 19 players in starting roles this season, with only three starting all 16 matches.
ABOUT UAB (9-2-4, 6-0-2 C-USA)
UAB comes into Ruston riding a program-best 10-game unbeaten streak, with their last loss coming at Arizona State on Sep. 1 (2-6). The Blazers' only other loss on the year was the match before Memphis (1-2).
In conference play, UAB currently sits in second place with 20 points, behind unbeaten Rice. The Blazers won their first four conference matches before posting two draws against North Texas and UTSA. They come into Ruston on a two-game winning streak with shutouts over Charlotte (2-0) and WKU (1-0).
The Blazers have only allowed two goals in conference play thanks to the work of senior goalkeeper Eve Beyer and senior defender Asha Zuniga.
Beyer has 11 starts on the year, including all eight C-USA matchups, posting 37 saves and seven shutouts on the year. She earned C-USA Goalkeeper of the Week on Oct. 4.
Zuniga has earned three Defensive Player of the Week honors during 2022, starting all 15 matches and leading the team in minutes played (1,335). Zuniga has also added four goals scored, including three game-winners.
Freshman forward Stella Lawson and sophomore forward Carlyn Presley lead the offensive attack for the Blazers, scoring six and five goals, respectively. Lawson (13) and Presley (12) are also No. 1 and No. 2 on the team in points.
The Blazers have outscored their opponents 24-15 on the year and hold a slight advantage in shots, 144-133.
Head Coach Erica Demers picked up her 50th career win last Sunday over WKU.
THE SERIES
This will be the ninth all-time meeting on the pitch between the Techsters and the Blazers, with the series tied 4-4-0.
The series dates back to 2014 when Tech won in Ruston, 2-1, the first of four straight matches captured by the Techsters.
UAB has rebounded having won the last four matches, including last year's match in Birmingham, 2-0. Tech is 2-2-0 all-time in matches played in Ruston.
Only three of the eight matches have resulted in a shutout, one for Tech, and two for UAB. The overall goal count is 11-9 in favor of UAB.

Single-game tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth (ages 4-17). All tickets are general admission in the new facility with stands comprised of bleacher-style seating with backs.

STADIUM POLICIES/PARKING
Clear bags are required at all Louisiana Tech athletic events. Fans must sit in the stands and cannot be on the field, on the grass hill, or the sidewalks.
Parking is free and available alongside Stadium Blvd. as well as west of Dr. Billy Bundrick Field. To access the field, fans will enter the main entrance of the Soccer/Softball complexes and go up the steps on the southwest corner of Robert Mack Caruthers Field.
