ABOUT LA TECH (4-7-3, 2-2-2 C-USA)
Louisiana Tech improved to 2-2-2 in Conference USA and 4-2-2 at home with a 2-1 win over UTSA Thursday in Ruston.
With the win, Tech moved into fourth place in the C-USA standings, two points out of third behind North Texas with four matches remaining. It was the Techsters' 50th win at home since 2014.
Maci Geltmeier & Josie Studer, penalty kick, scored their first goals of the season, and Sydnee Korchak registered a career-high 11 saves in the win.
Studer, who is fifth in the Conference with 11 shots since the start of conference play, scored her first goal since Oct. 14 of the 2021 campaign.
Korchak is ranked No. 2 in Conference USA in saves (60) and saves per match (4.6) and is fourth in save percentage (.741).
LA Tech has used 19 players in starting roles this season, with only three starting all 13 matches.
Tech has scored four goals in their last three games, which matches their best three-game streak since the first three matches of the season.
Since the start of conference play, Tech's seven goals scored are good for third in the league. Their 61 shots in C-USA matches rank fourth.
ABOUT MIDDLE TENNESSEE (2-6-3, 0-2-2 C-USA)
Middle Tennessee comes into Sunday's matchup with a 2-4-2 record in Murfreesboro this season.
The Blue Raiders have picked up two points in the Conference USA standings with 1-1 draws against WKU and at Charlotte after beginning conference play with losses at UAB (1-2) and North Texas (0-3).
The Blue Raiders tied Charlotte in the final 17 minutes after Charlotte lost a player due to a red card to force the draw.
Middle Tennessee is led in points by sophomore midfielder Kirstine Lykke, with six, who has scored three goals this season. Lykke also leads the team in shots on goal (11) and is second in total shots (17) in only 356 minutes of action off the bench in 11 matches.
