Bulldogs Earn AVCA Team Academic Award

The Louisiana Tech volleyball program has been recognized for its excellence in the classroom, earning the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2026 academic year.
RUSTON - The Louisiana Tech volleyball program has been recognized for its excellence in the classroom, earning the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year.
The award honors volleyball programs across the country that maintain a year-long team grade point average of 3.30 or higher on a 4.0 scale, recognizing the commitment of student-athletes and coaching staffs to academic success.
The Bulldogs had four CSC All-Academic nods and one CUSA All-Academic recipient last season in their first year under head coach Scott Mattera. The team had 3.58, 3.40 and 3.53 GPA's across the Fall, Winter and Spring quarters, respectively.
Louisiana Tech volleyball near the beginning of its first season in the Sun Belt Conference, with 13 regular season matches in the Thomas Assembly Center. The Bulldogs will host two tournaments from August 28-30 and September 10-12 and open conference play against Southern Miss on September 25th in the TAC.
Admission to all Louisiana Tech Volleyball home matches is free.
