NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Louisiana Tech concludes their quick two-match road trip in Texas with a visit to Nacogdoches, facing off with Stephen F. Austin on Sunday, August 30 in Nacogdoches. First touch at SFA Soccer Field is set for 6 p.m. CT.

The Bulldogs (1-2-1) are coming off their first win of the season and first of the Matt Lodge era with a 1-0 shutout at Houston Christian on Thursday. It is the first time since 2023 that the 'Dogs won their road opener and the first clean sheet in a road opener since 2019.
Freshman Mackenzie Lorkowski continues her dominance in front of the net to start her young career, leading all Division I freshman keepers with 32 saves, which are also tied for the second-most among all D1 goalies. She also leads the country with a saves per game rate of 10.67.
Sunday's match will be the first visit to Nacogdoches since 2010, when the 'Dogs fell to the Ladyjacks (1-3-0), 2-1. SFA leads the all-time series with a 4-2-1 mark and a perfect 3-0 record when playing LA Tech on their home pitch. The Bulldogs fell, 1-0, to SFA in Ruston in 2025 and have not secured a win over the 'Jacks since 2008.
SFA enters Sunday with just one win in their first four contests, coming off a 2-1 loss at Arkansas State, one of Tech's fellow SBC West members. The Red Wolves struck first in the 23rd minute before the 'Jacks equalized nearly seven minutes into the second half. A last-minute penalty was awarded to ASU and converted to be the game-winner.
SFA is 1-1 thus far on their home pitch in 2026, opening the season with a convincing 6-0 win over Sul Ross State. All six goals were scored by six different players, as well as assisted on by six different SFA team members. Kensley Smith, Alyce Chappelle and Kamrynn Davis were the only players to register a goal and an assist in their season opener.
Head coach Ashley Whittemore is in her second season at the helm of the SFA women's soccer program, guiding the 'Jacks to a 5-1-4 record in Southland play and an SLC Tournament Championship appearance. SFA ultimately fell to Houston Christian, 1-0, in the tournament final.
