Abby Pollart

Abby Pollart completed her first season on the Louisiana Tech volleyball staff in 2025, helping guide the Bulldogs through a year of transition and competitive growth during her debut campaign in Ruston.

Louisiana Tech finished the season with a 9-21 overall record while improving its RPI by 28 spots from the previous year, reflecting measurable progress across the program in Pollart’s first season on staff.

The Bulldogs showed strength at home, going 2-1 at the Bulldog Bash with wins over Jackson State and ULM. One of the defining moments of the season came in a 3-0 sweep of New Mexico State inside historic Scotty Robertson Memorial Gymnasium, marking LA Tech’s first match in the venue since 2013 and snapping a 23-match losing streak to the Aggies. The Bulldogs delivered their most efficient offensive performance of the season in that match, hitting .376 as a team.

LA Tech also earned a hard-fought five-set victory over Jacksonville State, closing the decisive fifth set on a 15-5 run to secure the win over the Gamecocks.

Pollart arrived in Ruston after serving as the head coach at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota, for three seasons. During her tenure, she helped guide the Marauders to sustained academic success, producing 33 Northern Sun All-Academic selections, five Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction honorees, and 12 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections.

Prior to her time at UMary, Pollart spent two seasons as head coach at Central Community College in Columbus, Nebraska. She led the Raiders to consistent academic and athletic success, including a 3.55 team GPA and seven All-Region selections. In her first season, CCC went 19-19 overall, earned a win at the regional tournament, and produced three All-Region performers.

The Raiders earned Academic Team of the Year honors under her leadership and had eight student-athletes recognized as NJCAA All-Academic selections. In the 2020–21 season, CCC reached the Region IX championship match and finished with a 3.54 team GPA despite a season impacted by COVID-19 disruptions, with four players earning All-Region honors.

Pollart also spent one season as an assistant coach at UMary in 2018–19, where she served as recruiting coordinator, oversaw academics, and contributed to program operations and fundraising.

Her additional coaching experience includes time at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, as well as serving as interim head coach and assistant coach at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology during the 2016–17 season.

Originally from Powell, Wyoming, Pollart grew up around the game as the daughter of a longtime collegiate coach. She played collegiately at Northeastern Junior College and St. Gregory’s University before beginning her coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. She also gained early coaching experience as a volunteer assistant at Cameron University.

Pollart earned her associate’s degree in psychology from Northeastern in 2010, a Bachelor of Science in Social Science–Psychology from St. Gregory’s in 2012, and a Master of Education in Physical Education and Coaching from Arkansas at Monticello in 2015.
